Transport Minister to offer 5 projects to “Belousov list” investors

KAZAN, Oct 16 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Transport Ministry is ready to offer five nation-scale infrastructure projects for participation of investors from the “Belousov list,” Minister Yevgeny Ditrikh told reporters on Tuesday.

“We are keeping in touch with (Alexander Shokhin, president of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs). I know that he has plans several meetings between the investors and the ministries including us. We have designed a list of projects to offer,” he said.

The projects are a toll highway from Moscow to Kazan, widening railway bottlenecks, extension of ports’ capacity, construction of airports in Russia’s regions and high-speed lines.

In August, President Vladimir Putin’s aide Andrei Belousov suggested withdrawing up to 500 billion rubles a year of windfall income from some metals, petrochemical, and fertilizer producers. But later he backtracked and said that he agreed with the companies that the government will stimulate their investment in nation-scale projects.
